To all fans and foes; all of us here at the AMEN commune think that you all needed to know what's been happening on the inside. We have been made aware that there has been plenty of talk about Casey and the band without any of the commune's knowledge. As most of you overseas most likely aware, there have been two separate occasions that AMEN tours/shows/promo engagements have been announced. Casey (who has been in the studio finishing the new album) and the rest of the commune did not hear of or confirm these tours. Unfortunately, it had to be the fans that alerted the commune to these engagements.
The band received no paperwork, budgeting, finalized agreements, or any contracts whatsoever with any of the various UK agents that Casey and AMEN had been speaking with about potential tour scheduling. No work visas had ever been sent to the band, thus the band was never able to tour, never planned on touring, and was unaware of shows being booked until it was too late. Subsequently, the band was unable to play a festival in Spain without paying money from its own pockets. With the band unsigned, this is money that the band does not have, making this show impossible. Also, opening acts Hinterland and The Inbreds were asked by a promoter under the guise of AMEN representation to pay a ridiculous amount of money to be allowed to open for AMEN (who has NEVER asked ANY BAND to pay money to open for them. AMEN has taken bands such as Shadows Fall, God Forbid, Terrorcult, Minus, Torqamada, Raging Speedhorn, Charger, and others on the road, even paying these bands out of their own pocket if needed). Needless to say, none of the parties claiming to act on behalf of AMEN have been legitimately representing the band. AMEN has only cancelled ONE tour in the past 10 years, and this was due to a life and death situation. We sincerely apologize to any promoters and fans that have had to deal with all of this confusion along with us. Let it be known to everyone that we are working with The Inbreds, and Dean (now having heard the REAL story) has taken on the responsibility of setting up a tour in October that will coincide with AMEN’s co-headlining appearance at the Damnation Festival with Kreator. We hope everyone can understand that this was out of EVERYONE'S control. With Casey in the studio and the rest of us having day jobs, this all happened without our prior knowledge.
As for the studio, AMEN will be selling a CD on tour, not unlike the previous Join or Die CD, 2000 of which were sold in just two weeks. This will be the only way to get this tour album, and it will never be available in stores. There will also be a split EP with the Inbreds available on this tour. Finally, AMEN will be releasing an album that will be available in stores later this year. We will have more info on these releases and the upcoming tour in the coming weeks.
