Iggy & The Stooges "Raw Power-Legacy Edition"

"I always liked Raw Power. A lot. I knew that not a lot of other people would like it at the time it was made, but what could I do? Seeing it re-released on Sony Legacy is deeply satisfying. The Stooges and I are cocked and loaded to follow up and deliver it live on stage in 2010.” IGGY POP

“Raw Power was the epicenter for a lot of peoples musical lives (not the least of them my own). This re-release will allow a lot of new listeners the chance to experience it in its original form as well as Iggy's remix and additional material. It sounds as contemporary today as it did in the 1970s, its just a timeless rockin' album” JAMES WILLIAMSON

*****

Quotes taken from RAW POWER DELUXE EDITION

It’s impossible to overemphasise how influential this record, and for that matter any record by The Stooges, was to me and many others who formed bands. – Jim Reid (The Jesus & Mary Chain)

I would not be the guitarist, or indeed the person, that I am today if this record had not been made. This was a life changer, a masterpiece. – Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys, Rocket From The Tombs)

Iggy is the godfather of Punk Rock. He represents what we all aspire to be in Rock & Roll. – Slash (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver)

Raw Power could be one of the most aptly titled albums ever—there’s nothing else you could call it that would fit as well. It is a stand-alone blueprint for everything that Rock promises. – Henry Rollins (Black Flag, Rollins Band)
